"At its core, Atlas Xugged is a rejection of overly ordered perfectionism, embracing the randomness of life instead of insistently forcing our wills upon it. It's also about the precarious tension that exists between the digital and analog world. It is an attempt to juxtapose all things synthetic and artificial with the natural and wild.

In the absence of human interference, the natural world is harmoniously balanced between order and chaos. Humans wishing to impose order onto nature in an effort to bend Her to their will do so to show dominance over the Mother that gave birth to them, either unaware or uncaring of the consequences.

The title is a slight jab at Randian objectivism, playfully mocking how this mode of being is alien and unnatural. We are pre-wired to find ourselves as members of like-minded communities where we can find understanding, love, and meaning. The present world of self-interest is foreign to a species that is pre-programmed to desire connection and community.

The hyper-capitalistic world is isolating and uncaring. Earth is seeking those who will reject the nihilism and meaninglessness that the present structure of reality enforces. Now, perhaps more than ever, humanity needs individuals who will bravely discard the default selfishness baked into them by the complex machinations of their environment, so that they can take part in the great effort required to lift the weight of Earth's numerous problems onto their already world-weary and weathered shoulders.
